Merry Christmas

Snow is in the air, even here in Virginia. Visiting family for the holiday break, and loving every minute of it. Yesterday we woke up bright and early to see what Santa had in store. Then we had a wonderful breakfast made by my cousin. The day went wonderfully spending time with family. I hope to have pictures posted soon. I wish everyone a wonderful holiday season and happy New Year.

Santa Claus Is Coming to Town

These last two days have been hectic with young kids running around the photography studio. There can only be two explanations, one could be there is a room full of candy somewhere... or Santa is in the building. Santa came for the joyful yearly gathering. It is wonderful to see the look on the kids faces when they see Santa... most of the time anyways, they either light up like Rudolph's nose, or they break down in tears from fear of the old red cheeked man. I just love that warm fuzzy feeling of the holiday season. Happy Holidays everyone.

BOO!!

Just found out that my first hockey game is on Halloween. My initial reaction was "This better not cut into my trick-or-treating time.", then I found out that the game was at 10:00 in the morning. I can't wasit for Halloween, I am going to be a dead person. I am going trick-or-treating early, then the house next door to mine is vacant and pretty much abandoned so my friends and I are going to hide there and scare people. Plus I cannot wait any longer for candy.

Aquinas

A couple weeks ago I went with my dad to Aquinas school in Rochester. I went to speak to 7th and 8th graders about the photography I had done over the summer. As the first group of at least 25 kids came piling into the room, I became more nervous. There were so many kids that we had to get extra chairs and people still had to stand. Now 25 may not seem like a lot, but as nervous as I was, it felt like 25 hundred. It was scary but it was fun. I will write another blog post on this, but for now, you will just have to wait.

Coming Soon

I haven't posted in a while but I have been quite busy. I have had two preview sessions, one order, and another photo shoot. My friend Jenna's (below) family loved the pictures I took of her and asked for me to take photo's of her little sister Jackie. Though I have not posted the pictures yet I am in the process of editing. I hope to have them posted by the end of the week. Also the cousins of Jenna and Jackie want me to shoot pictures for a surprise Christmas gift for their parents. That is very big for me considering the parents will not know about the photo's until December. I hope they like them, then again, when have I gone wrong?

Small Business, Big Visions

Although my business is small, my visions are big. I did a photo shoot for only 5 dollars of one of my good friends. I got some very good shots, and she was very helpful, when I posed her she cooperated nicely. I am very excited to do more shoots. Leave comments and tell me what you think of the photos.

That Went Well

3 hours of shooting, that's nothing. 600 shots, please. I could have gone longer, but I ran out of battery and at the time only had 6 shots left on the card. I wish I had more, I had so many good pictures and yet so many more good ideas. I guess I will have to work with what I have. I would have just been creating more work for myself. Next week is what really counts, my friend Bella and her mom are coming back into the studio to see the finished results, and this is what I need for them to buy pictures. We will just have to see how that goes, but today...that went well.
(Pictures will be posted later).

Another Hard Day...But Fun

I got to the studio around 10:30, jumped right into a shoot. Of course I was on my usual job as reflector girl, but it tought me a lot about lighting. At 3:00 there is a newborn shoot and dad says he can use some help with that, which is perfect, 2 things i love, babies and photos all wrapped up in one.
Being dilligent is hard work, but hard work is money.

Being Dillegent Is Hard

Who knew that one days worth of work could be so exhausting? I might start to rethink bugging my dad the second he walks in the door. It will be even more exhausting when my friends start to book some appointments for the 5 dollar sessions. I am really hoping it will take off (for this week anyway) so I don't have to babysit my little 8 year old brother Cade. This was just the first day, I am sure it will get better.

5 Dollar Fun Sessions

I am testing my skills, asking my friends to come to Chesler Photography and get fun photos taken by me. The session is a very good price considering you could pay about the same price for the mall santa and these photos are much better.
These photos will be taken my way, I will pose you in the beginning because I know how girls my age would want to pose. After I have done my work you can do some poses that you want, with fun props and other girly stuff (jewelry). Call the studio at (585)-393-9242.

The Start Of Something Great

I have recently discovered a new interest in photography. My dad, Steve Chesler is a professional photographer and has won some awards for his work. He is now passing on his wonderful talent to me. I can tell he and my mom are very proud in the work I have done, as am I. Although I am yet to be a teenager I have been told I have a very creative eye and that can be put to very good use.
I hope to take over the photography studio after college because it is a way of being creative while doing something I love. I am also looking forward to using photography as a way to bond and spend time with my dad.
